It has been too long since an issue of the newsletter went out; cue the joke about the cobbler with the barefoot kids. Or the plumber with the leaky toilet. I pledge to keep the newsletter schedule much more regular from now on.
Much has transpired since the last issue, including the addition of scores of new subscribers. To all of you receiving your first issue, welcome. Your feedback and participation are always welcome. Without further adieu, let's get to the good stuff...

There's so much to tell you, we'll stick to the headlines:
-Alex and I have just returned from a trip to Korea. Check here and here for photos of the adventure, including shots of a traditional Korean wedding.
-This month, my sister Janis and I completed the Vancouver Marathon, (our first) in 3:53:49!
-Tell Ten Friends is inking a deal with Ubertor to be a vendor of their software, building websites for real estate agents. More news on that below, in the "new sites" section. We've already amassed a lot of great new clients through Ubertor.
-Also...yours truly has been asked to participate in a certain television show...You'll have to wait for the juicy details, air dates, etc...
David Meerman Scott has just put the finishing touches on his latest book: "The New Rules of Marketing and PR." An advance review copy arrived in my mailbox last week, and I am now digesting the book's contents, nodding approvingly as I go.
David interviewed me during the writing process, and I'm excited to say that both myself and my blog get a mention in the acknowledgements!

The book should appear on Amazon in mid-June, and in Canadian bookstores soon after.
When it does, grab yourself a copy and you'll be better prepared to navigate the new and ever-changing world of marketing and PR. David's beliefs are very much in sync with my own, and his writing have helped shape many of the strategies we've enacted on behalf of our clients.
Our little web empire continues to grow, and we are especially excited to announce the addition of www.telltenfriends.ca, a new site (built with Ubertor) that focusses specifically on real estate marketing.
It's part of our agreement with Ubertor, and helps us showcase the functionality of their software and content management system.

I have also just launched a new site at www.jordanbehan.com, where I'm giving myself a chance to goof off a bit more. As the readership of the marketing blog increases, so does my responsibility to stay on topic. At my new personal site, all bets are off.
Subscribers: feed address here. Don't understand RSS? Keep reading...
RSS is the "broadcast" technology that makes it possible to subscribe to your favourite blogs, videos and podcasts. Essentially, you can read all of the newly published content on your favourite sites, without having to visit them one-by-one. It's still tricky to explain, but once you get the hang of it, the way you use the web will change forever.
Lee LeFever, local Vancouver travel blogger, podcaster and web guru has created a “live action animation” that adds charm to his step-by-step tutorial on RSS. View his original post, including the video, here:
While most agree that this technology is one fo the greatest things to happen to media since moving pictures and the press, it's name "RSS" is a bit too techy for some. An anacronym for "Really Simple Syndication," it is anything but simple to explain, and we here at Tell Ten Friends want to suggest a few name changes. Feel free to join the discussion on this very topic over the at the Tell Ten Friends forum, where Rob and I have been scratching our heads. Join the forum, and then the discussion on "How to Sexify RSS."
As promised, I will try to get the newsletter schedule back on track, publishing more frequently. As always, your ideas for subjects and topics are always welcome. Send them over using our handy contact form, and we'll try to find room in an upcoming issue.
Thanks for reading!

Dear friends and family, this video is for you. There is a new way to keep up with your favorite web sites: it's called RSS. Sachi and I made the video below to explain how RSS helps you save time on the Internet and how to get started. Enjoy!
